Joseph Lambert: Atlanta Entrepreneur and Founder of Joseph’s Junk Removal

Personal Background

Joseph Lambert is an Atlanta, Georgia native who grew up as the oldest of five children. He experienced a formative challenge at age 12 when his parents divorced, which dramatically changed his family’s circumstances. Joseph has said this event “shook our family” and prompted him to mature quickly – his mother had to enter the workforce, and Joseph sought ways to help financially. As a pre-teen, he took initiative by mowing lawns and doing construction work for neighbors to earn money to lighten the burden on his mom. These early responsibilities instilled in him a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive from a young age.

In personal life, Joseph is known for his energetic and down-to-earth personality. On social media he even jokingly describes himself as a “Dreamer. Builder. Head junk man…Urban Cowboy. Krispy Kreme enthusiast,” proudly embracing his Atlanta roots. As of mid-2025, Joseph is in his early twenties and has already achieved business success well beyond his years.

Education and Early Entrepreneurial Experiences

Joseph Lambert attended high school in the Atlanta area (he mentions going to a small Christian school) and showed an entrepreneurial streak long before graduation. In his early teens, he experimented with small businesses born out of necessity and curiosity. By age 15, during a business law class project, he and a friend teamed up to create a landscaping venture called Southern Standard Residential. This early venture gave Joseph a taste of running a service business and managing customers while still in high school.

In his senior year, Joseph stumbled upon the junk removal industry by chance. One of his landscaping clients asked if he could haul away unwanted household items before a move. He took the odd job and hit a grand slam with it, earning roughly $1,600 in about four hours. He quickly recognized a scalable opportunity in junk removal. Although he narrowly missed graduating on time due to a failed class, Joseph completed his diploma requirements from home while working full-time on his new business. After graduating in spring 2020, he made a pivotal decision to pursue junk removal instead of college, even preparing a PowerPoint to convince his family.

Founding of Joseph’s Junk Removal

Joseph officially founded Joseph’s Junk Removal (JJR) in 2019 while still a teenager, starting with a single rented truck. From day one, he positioned JJR as a full-service junk removal business capable of handling old furniture, appliances, and construction debris.

Joseph focused on customer service and company culture as key differentiators. Modeled after Chick-fil-A’s service culture, JJR adopted the motto “Clear Your Junk, Clear Your Mind.” The company became known for fast, friendly, and professional crews. In the early stages, Joseph handled every aspect of the business himself.
